Patient sent photos of area through online Chart, Dr. recommended to give patient an antihistamine such as cetirizine 5 mg or loratadine 10 mg daily until redness is gone. Also apply hydrocortisone cream twice a day-2.5% strength will work better than OTC 1%, let me know if you need a prescription and which pharmacy. As long as no wheezing, throat swelling, trouble breathing, the redness and swelling at injection site is not a reason to avoid influenza vaccines in the future. But when given, would start the cetirizine (Zyrtec) when given.
