Symptom narrative

6mo ex38 weeker female with no significant medical history, came to office and received MMR vaccine due to upcoming travel, where community outbreak of measles was at the time. Health Department recommended 6mo and up to receive MMR vaccine. Patient developed thrombocytopenia, petechiae, bruising that began 12 days after MMR vaccine given. She was hospitalized for 4 days and diagnosed with thrombocytopenia. Initially also had neutropenia, which improved. Patient received IVIg. Platelet count improved. Patient was followed outpatient with Hematology/Oncology. Patient has recovered from thrombocytopenia and is well.
