completely blind at one point; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP from medical information team. A 76-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) (COMIRNATY (2025-2026 FORMULA)), as dose 1, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: BLINDNESS (medically significant), outcome "recovering", described as "completely blind at one point". Clinical course: Patient 77 years old and has received exclusively the Pfizer covid vaccines from the beginning. He received about a dozen of them total, about every 4 months. At age 76, he started losing his vision and was completely blind at one point but it is improving. He has read that there are visual side effects with the Pfizer vaccine, especially in older people and it is said that you should not receive the Pfizer covid vaccine if you have had corneal implants because it causes them to detach. Caller wanted to know if there have been any reports of visual loss, any recommended treatments or information on if and/or when the vision will improve. His ophthalmologists have not seen anything like this. No follow-up attempts are possible. Batch/lot number is not provided, and it cannot be obtained.
