dverse events: Post-Shingrix reaction with fever (up to 101.2101.5°F) and rigors starting 12/2/2025; acute GI illness beginning 12/3/2025 with frequent diarrhea (initially 11/18 hours; later ~35 BMs over 3 days), plus persistent flatulence and decreased appetite with weight loss (~5 lb). Time course: Fever/rigors within 24 hours of vaccination (12/2); diarrhea starts 12/3 and fluctuates with peak around 12/412/5; gradual improvement by 12/7; appetite/weight remained reduced as of 12/12/2025. Treatment: Supportive care at home with Pepto-Bismol, Imodium, and Zofran (dosed 12/512/7); no specific antiviral/antibiotic therapy reported. Continued: Outcome: Fever resolved; diarrhea decreased to ~23 stools/day by 12/7; ongoing reduced appetite and weight loss; outpatient labs on 12/12/2025 show mild transaminase elevations (ALT 71, AST 46) and albumin 3.8 g/dL; no hospitalization or serious adverse events documented. Labs were done as part of yearly physical. Unsure if this was part of concurrent GI virus, participant previously traveled, and reported gastritis while abroad. Patient was abroad from November 7th-21st and has never had traveler's diarrhea or any other lower GI symtoms before December 2nd 2025. The only residual symptom at time of vaccination was burping.

12/12/2025: Outpatient PCP labs: AST: 46 U/L,ALT: 71 U/L; Albumin: 3.8 g/dL; Lipids: Total cholesterol 165 mg/dL; HDL 56 mg/dL (10/30/2024) for context: Total cholesterol 230 mg/dL; HDL 90 mg/dL; Albumin 4.2 g/dL Notes: No clinical labs were drawn as part of the study visit itself per protocol; PCP obtained labs during year physical. PCP will continue to monitor labs.
