Swollen tongue

Symptom narrative

Swollen tongue; This non-serious case was reported by a pharmacist via call center representative and described the occurrence of swollen tongue in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. On 01-DEC-2025, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix. In DEC-2025, 1 week after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced swollen tongue (Verbatim: Swollen tongue). The patient was treated with diphenhydramine hydrochloride (Benadryl). The outcome of the swollen tongue was resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the swollen tongue to be related to Shingrix. It was unknown if the company considered the swollen tongue to be related to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK receipt date:12-DEC-2025 The reporter stated that, a patient received their second dose of Shingrix on 1-DEC-2025 and developed a swollen tongue a week after the dose. It did not inhibit breathing and resolved after Benadryl. HCP did not want to provide patient information. The reporter consented to follow up.
