An 84-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) (COMIRNATY (2025-2026 FORMULA)), on 14Oct2025 as dose 1, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) at the age of 84 years for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history was not reported. Concomitant medication(s) included: INFLUENZA VACCINE, start date: 14Oct2025, stop date: 14Oct2025. The following information was reported: CARDITIS (medically significant) with onset 2025, outcome "unknown", described as "inflammation of the heart"; CHEST DISCOMFORT (hospitalization) with onset 21Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "feeling discomfort in his chest"; CHEST PAIN (hospitalization) with onset 22Oct2025, outcome "unknown", described as "discomfort in his chest/pain"; SEIZURE (medically significant) with onset 22Oct2025, outcome "recovering", described as "seizures"; HEADACHE (medically significant), outcome "unknown", described as "severe headaches". The patient was hospitalized for chest discomfort, chest pain (start date: 22Oct2025, discharge date: 24Oct2025, hospitalization duration: 3 day(s)). The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: Body height: (unspecified date) 5 feet 8 inches or 5 feet 9 inches; Echocardiogram: (unspecified date) Unknown Results; Electroencephalogram: (02Dec2025) did not have any seizure activity; Tests: (unspecified date) Unknown Results. Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of chest discomfort, chest pain, headache. Clinical course: On 21Oct2025 he was feeling discomfort in his chest. Early morning of 22Oct2025 the pain was so severe that she (patient's wife) called 911 because she thought he was having a heart attack. When paramedics came, they gave him nitro and the pain did not subside. Transported him to # to the # and he was admitted that morning on 22Oct2025. Gave him pain medication and nitro again at the hospital and ruled that he did not have a heart attack. That afternoon after being admitted, he started with head shaking and it was later determined this was onset of seizures. He has no history of seizures. He was admitted in the hospital for 3 days and had all kinds of tests run. When he was discharged, he was referred to his regular cardiologist and that is when it was determined that it is from the covid vaccine the inflammation of the heart. Cardiologist did some research and told the caller that a lot of people had the first onset of seizures. He went through several tests after being discharged, it was recommended that he had a heart echo and all kinds of tests done. He had two really bad seizures after he was home. He came home on 24Oct2025 so the seizures that he had after coming back home were probably around 26Oct2025 or 27Oct2025. He also had a seizure in the cardiologists office and then ordered him more brain scans. Gradually the seizures got better. On 02Dec2025 he had an EEG done and it showed that he did not have any seizure activity. States it was put it out there that it was the covid vaccine and no one but the cardiologist said that it was due to the covid vaccine since cardiologist said the covid vaccine causes heart inflammation. He received the flu vaccine for ages 65 plus and Comirnaty 12 plus covid vaccine that same day. Caller states she forgot to mention that when he was going through seizures and the heart inflammation, he was having severe headaches and he had been prescribed a pain medication to take for the headaches. His headaches have gotten better but it has been almost 8 weeks and he is still weak, lethargic and he is not himself. The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) will be requested and submitted if and when received.
