Symptom narrative

On 10December the patient took a sick day from work. In the course of the day, she started to lose balance while walking, and needed support to go the bathroom or walk around the house. By 11Dec, the symptoms worsened, and by evening the patient could not walk or move her arms. She was taken to the clinic for urgent care. Upon receiving, her numbness went up towards her lips, and was now completely immobile. She was taken to the hospital on 12Dec, where is was provided with IVIG treatment in the beginning. 4 days later, there were no signs on improvement. She was then recommended for plasmapheresis, and is continuing with her treatment as we type this. Her final (7th) plasmapheresis will take place on 31Dec, and she will then be moved to rehabilitation for acute therapy over the course of the next few weeks. Recovery is said to take upto a year or more.

Lab data

Multiple tests were performed by the hospital, starting with a lumbar puncture to analysis the CNS. Full results still pending. MRI of Brain and Spine showed no infarction. CT Angiogram was clear for head and neck. Chemistry panel including liver function, thyroid stimulating, urine, albumin, creatine ratio tests were all performed.
