My twin sons were given an additional flu vaccine at their pediatrician office... the dates of their flu vaccines are 10/XX/25, 11/XX/25 and 11/XX/25. After the nurse administered the 1 year vaccines, she mentioned which one was the flu vaccine. I said they already had their flu vaccines. She replied stating they needed a booster. I said no, they had their booster 2 weeks ago. She then went out to another nurse sitting at a desk and asked her. They looked in the chart and saw that I was correct. This could have been avoided several ways... had the doctor mentioned / discussed the actual vaccines they were getting I could have mentioned they already had their flu vaccines. A simple detailed look at their chards would have prevented it. I am very concerned not only about administering unnecessary vaccines to my premature infants who were on oxygen support for the first 4 months of their lives, but it's concerning of how the doctor and nurse responded to me being upset about it. I wasn't taken seriously or validated and it was brushed off that "it won't hurt them" and they're extra protected" The lack of empathy or concern on their part creates concern of how this could be prevent in the future.
