Symptom narrative

patient developed a red spot around the area of the injection. Redness started spreading over the course of the day. Mother tried Benadryl cream as well as oral Benadryl with no improvement in the redness. On Thursday 12/18 the redness around the injection spot became bigger. Mother reports the spot is firm as well as warm. Denied breathing issues and reports that the child was eating/drinking and acting normal. Mother was advised to go to the ED, but was waiting to see about bringing her into office the next day. On Friday 12/19, redness has spread even larger, was firm, and hot. Site was never painful and the child never ran a fever. Child taken into the ED 12/19 where the child was diagnosed with cellulitis and prescribed an antibiotic.
