upon doing an inventory check we realized that the beyond use date sticker indicated that the vaccine had expired . I ran a report to see if any vaccines had been given since that date and found this vaccine. I contacted patient and explained the issue and that the patient had received their vaccine 58 days after the beyond use date. I also explained that this should not have resulted in any harm to the patient from the vaccine but there may be a decrease in potency due to the post use date. The patient understood and was not concerned. They said they were not interested in redoing the vaccine. No issues were encountered.
