My son received two vaccines at his 4 year old check up and approximately 24 hours after the vaccine started to report that the injection on his right arm was bothering him. The upper part of the arm where one of the two vaccines had been administered was red covering an area of approximately 2 inches by 3 inches. The area was warm to the touch and slightly raise. My son said that it did not itch and that it was a little painful, it seemed to be more painful upon palpation. There was no signs of infection (no pus, no wound, etc) and my son did not have a fever (highest temperature via forehead scan was 99.5 degrees F). We called the doctors office to report the reaction to the vaccine. The doctor said that she thought it was a reaction to the DTaP + IVP vaccine however they did not know for sure which vaccine went into which arm.
