The patient developed epigastric and left upper quadrant pain that radiated to the back upon waking 3 days (26 OCT) after vaccination. She was evaluated by her team physician during hockey practice who ordered laboratories assessing for an etiology. Findings were consistent with acute pancreatitis prompting referral to the local emergency department. She received IV fluids and Toradol for pain control. Cross sectional imaging was negative and she was subsequently discharged home with supportive measures as she was able to tolerate PO. She was removed from play and monitored via serial laboratories eventually becoming asymptomatic as of 06 NOV. Her laboratories subsequently normalized by 12 NOV and she was permitted to return to competitive play. Subsequent testing was consistent with a diagnosis of Gilbert Syndrome to explain an additionally noted slight elevation in bilirubin.
