Suspected vaccination failure; Shingles on forehead and on my hairline, next on my chest and neck; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included shingles (two episodes of shingles, first time on back around middle, next time had them in mouth the worst could not even spit) and oral herpes zoster. Family history included shingles (the patient's sister 10 years ago) and post herpetic neuralgia (patient's sister). On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: Shingles on forehead and on my hairline, next on my chest and neck). The patient had shingles four times: two before the Shingles shot and two after. The two that occurred after the Shingles shot had been much milder cases, but they had still been shingles. The last two episode had been on patient's forehead, hairline, and chest, neck. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary schedule, time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
