Then it moved down the rib to the left side) in a 79-year-old female patient who received mRNA-1283 (MNEXSPIKE PFS) (batch no. 3051995) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The suspect product included Pre-filled Syringe injection (batch no. 3051995) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. No Medical History information was reported. On 07-Nov-2025, the patient received dose of mRNA-1283 (MNEXSPIKE PFS) (Intramuscular use) 1 dosage form. On an unknown date, the patient started Pre-filled Syringe (unknown route) at an unspecified dose. On 08-Nov-2025, the patient experienced CHEST PAIN (pain started in the middle of my chest), BACK PAIN (pain in the middle of my back just to the right of the spinal column), INSOMNIA (sleeping is not easy) and MUSCULOSKELETAL CHEST PAIN (pain started in the middle of my chest right at the edge of the breast bone on the rib there. Then it moved down the rib to the left side). At the time of the report, CHEST PAIN (pain started in the middle of my chest), BACK PAIN (pain in the middle of my back just to the right of the spinal column), INSOMNIA (sleeping is not easy) and MUSCULOSKELETAL CHEST PAIN (pain started in the middle of my chest right at the edge of the breast bone on the rib there. Then it moved down the rib to the left side) had not resolved. The action taken with mRNA-1283 (MNEXSPIKE PFS) (Intramuscular use) was unknown. Concomitant medication was not provided. It was reported that the patient had experienced side effects following a COVID-19 vaccination. It was reported that the symptoms began the day after the vaccine was administered. It was stated that the pain initially started in the middle of her chest at the edge of the breastbone along the rib area. It was noted that the pain then moved down along the rib to the left side and subsequently resolved before moving to the right side. It was further reported that the pain later occurred lower on either side and intermittently in the middle of her back, just to the right of the spinal column. It was also mentioned that the pain sometimes involved the upper chest. It was reported that the pain was intermittent with variable intensity. It was indicated that lying down worsened the symptoms, resulting in difficulty sleeping unless she was propped up with pillows. It was noted that application of heat, including heating pads and gel packs, provided temporary relief; however, it was reported that her symptoms had not improved overall. It was reported that she consulted her doctor approximately two to three weeks after symptom onset. It was stated that she informed the doctor that she did not believe the symptoms were related to the COVID-19 vaccine but disclosed the information to ensure completeness. It was reported that the doctor immediately stated that the symptoms were a side effect of the COVID-19 vaccine, adding that the cause was unknown and that the duration could not be determined. It was clarified that the doctor was referring specifically to a vaccine-related side effect and not to COVID-19 infection. It was reported that the doctor explained the symptoms by stating that the vaccine was affecting the cartilage between the bones, without providing further detail. It was reported that the patient had planned to see her doctor again the following day and intended to ask where the doctor had obtained this information. It was noted that deep inhalation and chest expansion provided temporary symptom relief, though it did not permanently resolve the pain. It was denied that she experienced sore muscles or symptoms consistent with conditions she had researched independently, including fibromyalgia.
