The company considered the vaccination failure and ophthalmic herpes zoster to be unrelated to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 09-JAN-2026 The reporter stated that the report documented their clinical course, diagnostic process, and treatment, both systemic and ocular. The patient had received the Shingrix vaccinations six years earlier. The reactivation of herpes zoster after Shingrix had also been reported occasionally, despite the vaccine intended protective effect, possibly due to preexisting subclinical reactivations being unmasked. The reporter stated that the very fact that the vaccine offered protection had made the eye care professional diagnosis somewhat challenging. The reporter stated that events of HSV reactivation after Shingrix had been rare, usually self-limited, and not clinically serious. The batch number was not provided and unable to contact the reporter. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary vaccination schedule, time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.; Sender's Comments: A case of Vaccination failure and Ophthalmic herpes zoster, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix, in a male patient.
