Patient reported feeling dizzy after after leaving patient immunization room. Had patient sit down and put a cool cloth on her neck. Patient called her mom to come pick her up. Spoke with patient and she said she had not eaten much that day. She had a soda in the waiting area. We continued to monitor patient, and she reported feeling nauseous, pain in her throat, and difficulty breathing. Called 911. Had epi-pen ready to administer, but did not administer. Patient reported improvement in symptoms and was able to communicate with us throughout reaction. EMS arrived and did not think patient was in anaphylaxis. Patient was taken to ER. Spoke with patient following day, and she reported the ER was unsure if she had a reaction to vaccine or panic attack, but patient was feeling back to normal the following day.
