Headache; major blood pressure spikes; This serious case was reported by a pharmacist via sales rep and described the occurrence of headache in a elderly male patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included triple vessel bypass graft (years ago, had emergency triple bypass). On 06-JAN-2026, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix. On 07-JAN-2026, 1 days after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced headache (Verbatim: Headache) (serious criteria hospitalization) and increased blood pressure (Verbatim: major blood pressure spikes) (serious criteria hospitalization). The outcome of the headache and increased blood pressure were resolving. It was unknown if the reporter considered the headache and increased blood pressure to be related to Shingrix. The company considered the headache and increased blood pressure to be unrelated to Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 12-JAN-2026 The patient received Shingrix and had several days of headaches accompanied by major spikes in blood pressure. This was concerning due to previous (years ago) emergency triple bypass. The blood pressure had been well controlled as of late and ended up at the hospital (unknown if admitted or not) over the weekend. The patient had another anti hypertension medication added, and blood pressure had improved but was still high. The batch number was not provided, and we are unable to contact the reporter.; Sender's Comments: A case of Blood pressure increased and Headache, 1 day after receiving Shingrix, in a elderly male patient. Case lacks further information on concurrent conditions and relevant laboratory results.
