Suspected vaccination failure; got shingles 2 months later on my face; one eye got so funked up I couldn't see out of it; Eye burning; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, 2 months after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), facial herpes zoster (Verbatim: got shingles 2 months later on my face), visual impairment (Verbatim: one eye got so funked up I couldn't see out of it) and burning in eyes (Verbatim: Eye burning). The outcome of the vaccination failure and burning in eyes were not reported and the outcome of the facial herpes zoster and visual impairment were resolving. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, facial herpes zoster, visual impairment and burning in eyes to be related to Shingles vaccine. The reporter stated that they had received the vaccine and had developed shingles two months later their face. The reporter reported that, fortunately, it had not affected into eyeball but not super severe and definitely a mess. The reporter reported that one eye had funked up that they could not see out of it, although it had appeared to be healing. The reporter also said that the area had burned. The batch number was not provided and we and unable to contact the reporter.
