in bed for 3 days; developed case of ocular shingles in my right eye; increase in eye pressure; This serious case was reported by a consumer and described the occurrence of ophthalmic herpes zoster in a 59-year-old female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included chickenpox (as a kid got chickenpox when she was 5 years old and had very bad case of it) and activities of daily living impaired (due to chickenpox, missed school for over a month). Additional patient notes included patient had always been a very healthy person. On 07-JAN-2026, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix. On 07-JAN-2026, less than a day after receiving Shingrix, the patient experienced ophthalmic herpes zoster (Verbatim: developed case of ocular shingles in my right eye) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and increased intraocular pressure (Verbatim: increase in eye pressure). On 08-JAN-2026, the patient experienced bedridden (Verbatim: in bed for 3 days). The patient was treated with valaciclovir (Valacyclovir) and cefalexin (Cephalexin). The outcome of the ophthalmic herpes zoster, increased intraocular pressure and bedridden were not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the ophthalmic herpes zoster, increased intraocular pressure and bedridden to be related to Shingrix. Within 24 hours of the vaccine, the patient developed a case of ocular shingles in her right eye. The patient had a strong immune response and had been in bed for 3 days. The patient experienced red eye, swelling in the eye, increased eye pressure, and a rash on the forward. These symptoms began on 07-JAN-2026 and were ongoing. The patient wished she had known that the vaccine could trigger a case of ocular shingles. All reported symptoms were treated.
