fell down; temperature spiked to 103; femoral neuropathy behind left leg; coughing; flu like symptoms; weakness in leg/weakness in the back of his left thigh; felt chilly; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP from medical information team. A 77-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) (COMIRNATY (2025-2026 FORMULA)), on 05Dec2025 as dose 1, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) at the age of 77 years, in right arm for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history was not reported. The patient took concomitant medications. The following information was reported: BODY TEMPERATURE INCREASED (non-serious) with onset 11Dec2025, outcome "recovered", described as "temperature spiked to 103"; FALL (hospitalization) with onset 13Dec2025, outcome "not recovered", described as "fell down"; COUGH (non-serious) with onset Dec2025, outcome "recovered", described as "coughing"; CHILLS (non-serious) with onset Dec2025, outcome "recovered", described as "felt chilly"; NEUROPATHY PERIPHERAL (medically significant) with onset Dec2025, outcome "not recovered", described as "femoral neuropathy behind left leg"; INFLUENZA LIKE ILLNESS (non-serious) with onset Dec2025, outcome "recovered", described as "flu like symptoms"; MUSCULAR WEAKNESS (non-serious) with onset Dec2025, outcome "not recovered", described as "weakness in leg/weakness in the back of his left thigh". The patient was hospitalized for fall (start date: 15Dec2025, discharge date: 17Dec2025, hospitalization duration: 3 day(s)). The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: Body temperature: (11Dec2025) spiked to 103; (11Dec2025) Normal; Computerised tomogram: (30Dec2025) Unknown results; Electromyogram: (30Dec2025) femoral neuropathy behind left leg; Magnetic resonance imaging: (30Dec2025) Unknown results. Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of fall, neuropathy peripheral, muscular weakness, chills, body temperature increased. The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) will be requested and submitted if and when received. Clinical course: The patient was unable to confirm product name but stated it was the "Pfizer Covid shot" and he got it a local, so the pharmacy can confirm product name. "I had coughing and flu like symptoms for a week after the shot and it resolved and then the following day, I fell down for the first time when I experienced weakness in my leg. No one knows for sure what the origin is but the EMG showed I had neuropathy or polyneuropathy in my left leg and weakness in leg that happened within a week of the Pfizer shot and that is the only connection. It suddenly occurred and came out of the blue. I have to use a cane as a protective measure in case the leg goes out. I have had multiple CTs and MRIs and nothing extraordinary. Patient was calling about the covid shot. He got a shot on Friday 05Dec2025 and he started getting a cough, started to develop flu-like symptoms and probably at the beginning felt chilly and had a temperature at night. Then it seemed to get better but then the following Thursday his temperature spiked to 103 and he took Tylenol and it came down immediately to normal. On the subsequent Saturday night he suddenly fell down and then fell down a couple more times after that. He went to the hospital, and he was admitted to the hospital for a couple of days. He was admitted from 15Dec2025 to 17Dec2025. States he will cut to the chase. The hospital thought it might be that his fall was due to weakness in the back of his left thigh. Hospital originally thought it might be spinal stenosis but based on subsequent analysis by his neurologist, after an EMG test, a neurologist determined that it was a neuropathy that developed. EMG test was done on 30Dec2025. He wanted to know if this has arisen before and are there any associations. Treatment for fall not really but the hospital prescribed prednisone. Outcome of fall Has not recovered. Neuropathy clarified as femoral neuropathy behind his left leg. Treatment for femoral neuropathy: started physical therapy a week ago Outcome of neuropathy: states its both recovering and not recovering. Patient was taking a hold host of medications and declined to provide details stating it is not for this femoral neuropathy.
