passed away suddenly; About two months after the initial vaccine she began feeling pain in her leg; About two months after the initial vaccine she began feeling pain in her leg which was followed by pain in her hip; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of SUDDEN DEATH (passed away suddenly) in an 87-year-old female patient who received mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The occurrence of additional non-serious events is detailed below. No Medical History information was reported. On 02-Feb-2021, the patient received dose of mRNA-1273 (Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine) (Intramuscular use) 1 dosage form. In April 2021, the patient experienced PAIN IN EXTREMITY (About two months after the initial vaccine she began feeling pain in her leg). In 2021, the patient experienced ARTHRALGIA (About two months after the initial vaccine she began feeling pain in her leg which was followed by pain in her hip). The patient died on 02-Nov-2021. The reported cause of death was passed away suddenly. It is unknown if an autopsy was performed. At the time of death, PAIN IN EXTREMITY (About two months after the initial vaccine she began feeling pain in her leg) and ARTHRALGIA (About two months after the initial vaccine she began feeling pain in her leg which was followed by pain in her hip) had not resolved. No Concomitant medications were reported. Patient was perfectly healthy prior to taking the COVID 19 vaccines. It was reported that about two months after the initial vaccine patient began feeling pain in her leg which was followed by pain in her hip. She was a fighter and continued her daily walks even as the pain increased over the summer and into the fall. On 29-Oct-2021, she came to watch race, and she walked about one mile to and from the course. She complained of pain again, but she was tough. After lunch patient was dropped off at her home and that was the last time, could see her alive. She passed away suddenly four days later on 02-Nov-2021. It was unknown if the patient experienced any additional symptoms/events. No treatment information was reported.; Reporter's Comments: Company Comment: The event Sudden death is considered as not related to Moderna vaccine given the long latency. It is to note that the information provided is very limited as reason for death, medical history, concomitant medications, whether an autopsy was performed or not, reason for pain in extremity and arthralgia and other supportive diagnostic tests and treatment were nor provided.
