Symptom narrative

Patient received an expired Hib vaccine (expiration date 01/20/2026). No adverse reactions were observed from administration through discharge. The patient?s mother was informed that the dose given today is invalid but not harmful and does not pose a danger to the child. She was advised that the expired dose may not be fully potent and that a repeat dose is recommended for full protection. The replacement Hib dose will be administered at the next visit (15-month Well Child Check). The patient?s mother verbalized understanding and plans to return on 3/20/2026 for the repeat dose.
