Suspected vaccination failure; I got shingles again but no rash. Dr said it was internal; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included shingles (got shingles when he/she was in his/her 30s and had no idea what it was other than terrible and so painful) and pain. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. In DEC-2025, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and zoster sine herpete (Verbatim: I got shingles again but no rash. Dr said it was internal). The patient was treated with Antivirals. The outcome of the vaccination failure and zoster sine herpete were not reported. During Christmas, patient got shingles again but had no rash. The physician said it was internal. It had hurt just as bad. He/she was still getting shooting pains under his/her breasts. The patient hoped the pain would go away someday soon. He/she stated that the vaccine did not keep a person from getting shingles, but it might be less widespread. The patient had taken the antiviral medications. He/she was just getting so he/she could sleep most of the night. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding confirmation of vaccination schedule, time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
