On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. A patient had been getting the shingles shot ever since it became available to him/her at age 60. The patient's doctor had also prescribed Valacyclovir, which he/she took in the morning and at night. The patient developed a rash on his/her shoulder, the doctor said it appeared to be shingles. The patient took extra Valacyclovir, and he/she never went on to develop a painful case of shingles. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary vaccination schedule, time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting. The follow-up could not be possible as no contact details were available.
