Incorrect route of product administration

Symptom narrative

A Kinrix vaccine was administered using the incorrect route. The dose was given subcutaneously rather than intramuscularly as required. The supervisor spoke with the patient?s mother immediately after the incident while still in the room. The situation was explained in full, and the mother demonstrated understanding. She had no questions or concerns.
