I was given the 2nd dose of the Shigrix vaccine on 01/27/2026 by the pharmacist. Right when I returned home, I informed my wife I wasnt feeling well. Later the same evening, I developed a fever, chills, and muscle weakness. For the next 2 days I had the same symptoms, but abdominal pain became more intense. By Friday morning, if I wasnt feeling better, the decision was made to go seek medical help at an emergency room. On friday, the pain was still present. After 2 bowel movements, the pain was mostly focused in my lower right abdomen. At the emergency room, a CT Scan was performed, which discovered appendicitis. Immediate surgery was necessary. The doctors informed me after the surgery that as soon as they incised my badomen, pus was visible from a burst appendix. Infection had started which required the doctors to remove pieces of my intestines and colon. I finally returned home on 02/04/2026 after spending 5 days hospitalized
