Patient developed significant lower extremity edema with redness a few days after her vaccination. Patient felt her skin was lumpy and she had a tingling sensation. Patient presented to an urgent care on 12/19/2025 and was treated for possible cellulitis with doxycycline and dexamethasone. Patient was unable to finish the medications because she developed the flu and was hospitalized. Patient saw her cardiologist, Dr, on 1/6/2026 without any regimen change. She saw FNP-C on 1/13/2026 where she stated she had started taking her Lasix daily instead of as needed. Patient felt her edema was improving but was not completely back to normal. The pain was gone but the lumpiness and scaliness of her skin were still present. She saw Dr on 1/27/2026 because her legs had started swelling again with warmth and itching present. This was felt to be related to acute CHF exacerbation. Patient's Lasix was increased to 40 mg twice a day x 3 days. Patient was seen again on 1/30/2026 and was treated with dexamethasone 4 mg IM and Lasix was further increased to 40 mg in AM, 20 mg at lunch, and 40 mg in the PM. Patient was instructed to wear compression stockings every day. Patient was informally seen on 2/2/2026 and her swelling had improved vastly. Patient was instructed to use ammonium lactate lotion to help with residual scaliness of her skin. This is being reported because the patient feels this all started as a reaction to her RSV vaccine.
