possibly rheumatoid arthritis; Cramps and aches in her thumbs, mostly her right thumb; Not slept; Not feeling that well; she was flushed with some vaccines; Brain fog/she was not remembering some things; She had lumps/swelling that migrated just above her elbows; Toes on both feet were really sore and hurt; arthritis attack in her thumbs; Right thumb was gnarly looking/distorted and not right, worse after vaccine; Toes are distorted/wonky looking; not like this before the vaccine; Chills; Elbows were hurting; Really tired; This spontaneous case was reported by a consumer and describes the occurrence of RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (possibly rheumatoid arthritis) in a 68-year-old female patient who received SPIKEVAX NOS (SPIKEVAX NOS) for COVID-19 prophylaxis. The occurrence of additional non-serious events is detailed below. Concurrent medical conditions included Type II diabetes mellitus (type 2 diabetic - elevated blood sugars- "every now and again", blood sugar level fluctuation). In 2025, the patient received dose of SPIKEVAX NOS (SPIKEVAX NOS) (Intramuscular use) .5 milliliter. On an unknown date, the patient experienced RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (possibly rheumatoid arthritis) (seriousness criterion medically significant), MUSCLE SPASMS (Cramps and aches in her thumbs, mostly her right thumb), INSOMNIA (Not slept), MALAISE (Not feeling that well), FLUSHING (she was flushed with some vaccines), BRAIN FOG (Brain fog/she was not remembering some things), JOINT SWELLING (She had lumps/swelling that migrated just above her elbows), PAIN IN EXTREMITY (Toes on both feet were really sore and hurt), ARTHRITIS (arthritis attack in her thumbs), PERIPHERAL SWELLING (Right thumb was gnarly looking/distorted and not right, worse after vaccine), PERIPHERAL SWELLING (Toes are distorted/wonky looking; not like this before the vaccine), CHILLS (Chills), ARTHRALGIA (Elbows were hurting) and FATIGUE (Really tired). At the time of the report, RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS (possibly rheumatoid arthritis), MUSCLE SPASMS (Cramps and aches in her thumbs, mostly her right thumb), INSOMNIA (Not slept), MALAISE (Not feeling that well), BRAIN FOG (Brain fog/she was not remembering some things), JOINT SWELLING (She had lumps/swelling that migrated just above her elbows), PAIN IN EXTREMITY (Toes on both feet were really sore and hurt), ARTHRITIS (arthritis attack in her thumbs), PERIPHERAL SWELLING (Right thumb was gnarly looking/distorted and not right, worse after vaccine), PERIPHERAL SWELLING (Toes are distorted/wonky looking; not like this before the vaccine) and CHILLS (Chills) had not resolved, FLUSHING (she was flushed with some vaccines) had resolved and ARTHRALGIA (Elbows were hurting) and FATIGUE (Really tired) outcome was unknown. The action taken with SPIKEVAX NOS (SPIKEVAX NOS) (Intramuscular use) was unknown. No concomitant medications were provided. Patient had gotten the Moderna Spikevax COVID-19 vaccine a few months ago, possibly a year ago, and she was not really sick, but she had a really hard time with her thumbs and felt like some strange things happened to her after she received the Spikevax vaccine. She cannot recall, but she believed she had 3 COVID vaccines. After her last Spikevax, it seemed like she had an arthritis attack in her thumbs and on her toes. The left thumb was not so bad, but her right thumb was bad. Her right thumb was not right, and that it was distorted and turned and she had that her whole life as she was not young, but sometime after the vaccine she experienced cramps and aches in her thumbs, mostly her right thumb. The doctors said it was arthritis or something and possibly rheumatoid arthritis, but she did not test positive for it. The right thumb was gnarly looking, and it really hurt and that it was not like that and she did not experience it until about that year. The reporter stated that she was told that she could have rheumatoid arthritis without testing positive for it. The toes were now wonky looking. They were distorted and stated that it was probably arthritis, and it all happened at once.
