First COVID vaccine left me with Bells Palsy; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. A patient (age and gender not provided) received BNT162b2 omicron (lp.8.1) (COMIRNATY (2025-2026 FORMULA)), as dose 1, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation; rsv vaccine (RSV VACCINE), as dose number unknown, single for immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. Vaccination history included: Pneumonia vaccine (DOSE NUMBER UNKNOWN, SINGLE), administration date: 2021, for Pneumococcal immunization, reaction(s): "Headache", "Allergic reaction". The following information was reported: BELL'S PALSY (medically significant), outcome "unknown", described as "First COVID vaccine left me with Bells Palsy". Clinical course: Consumer stated, "I hope you can assist me. I have been instructed to get a new Pneumonia vaccine and the question that I have, I had an RSV vaccine, I had the first COVID vaccine. The first COVID vaccine (Suspect captured as provided) left me with Bell's Palsy. I had the RSV vaccine, and I got a reaction more Bell's Palsy from that vaccine. Is it safe now for me to take a Pneumonia vaccine?" When clarified manufacturer for COVID vaccine as Pfizer: Consumer stated, "Yes. I did have and I got Bell's Palsy." Name of RSV vaccine: Consumer stated, "I do not know the name of that (Hence, suspect captured as Unspecified RSV Vaccine). I believe it was also administered by Pfizer." (Consumer was not sure about the manufacturer, hence is this a Pfizer product tab left unchecked). When probed for Pneumonia vaccine that consumer want to take: Consumer stated, "No, I just learned yesterday that you have a new pneumonia vaccine now. I had a Pneumonia vaccine five years ago and I had normal reaction. I did not get any other reaction besides normal reaction from Pneumonia. I am concerned about the new Pneumonia vaccine. Will I get an adverse reaction?" Manufacturer for Pneumonia vaccine that consumer took earlier: Consumer stated, "'I got a allergic reaction, I got a headache or whatever. No, I do not, probably Pfizer." (Consumer was not sure about manufacturer, hence is this a Pfizer product tab left unchecked, and suspect captured conservatively as Unspecified Pneumonia Vaccine).
