He ended up in the hospital with AFib; This is a solicited report received from a Consumer or other non HCP from medical information team, Program ID. A 68-year-old male patient received BNT162b2 (BNT162B2 NOS), in 2022 as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history and concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: ATRIAL FIBRILLATION (hospitalization) with onset 2022, outcome "unknown", described as "He ended up in the hospital with AFib". The patient was hospitalized for atrial fibrillation (start date: 2022). The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: Heart rate: normal; irregular. Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of atrial fibrillation. The reporter's assessment of the causal relationship of "he ended up in the hospital with afib" with the suspect product(s) BNT162b2 was not provided at the time of this report. Since no determination has been received, the case is managed based on the company causality assessment. Clinical course: Caller mentioned that he is a casualty of covid vaccine. Caller would like to know the data of effectivity of Tikosyn and Amiodarone. (Withheld). Caller explained that 9 days after getting the Pfizer COVID vaccine, he ended up in the hospital with AFib. He said that everything failed and he was unable to get back in the normal heart rhythm; he was not supposed to leave the hospital until he was back in rhythm. Then he was placed on Tikosyn, 500 mg. Within 30 minutes, the rhythm was back to normal, he described it as an immediate response. He was placed a heart monitor during 1 week and on the 7th day he started back into an irregular rhythm. He was then switched to amiodarone (100 mg) and for the first time in years, the amiodarone is also failing. He is in AFib al the time and may have to return to a lower dose of Tikosyn. He wanted to know if there are any reports of patients switching from Tikosyn to amiodarone that didn't respond to the treatment. He wanted to confirm if a 500 mg dose was too much for his condition. No follow-up attempts are possible. Batch/lot number is not provided, and it cannot be obtained.; Sender's Comments: Based on known disease pathophysiology, the event of atrial fibrillation is assessed as not related to BNT162b2 vaccination, and more likely due to underlying medical conditions associated with advanced age.
