I got them under my tongue and down my throat; I got them under my tongue and down my throat; weight lost about 17 pounds; unable to eat; decreased energy level; depression; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of herpes zoster pharyngitis in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. In DEC-2025, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced herpes zoster pharyngitis (Verbatim: I got them under my tongue and down my throat) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), oral herpes zoster (Verbatim: I got them under my tongue and down my throat), weight loss (Verbatim: weight lost about 17 pounds), unable to eat (Verbatim: unable to eat), energy decreased (Verbatim: decreased energy level) and depression (Verbatim: depression). The outcome of the herpes zoster pharyngitis, oral herpes zoster, weight loss, energy decreased and depression were not reported and the outcome of the unable to eat was resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the herpes zoster pharyngitis, oral herpes zoster, weight loss, unable to eat, energy decreased and depression to be related to Shingles vaccine. The patient got the first part in December after first shot got them under tongue and down throat. (right side only) painful was an understatement. The patient was out of it for a good amount of time. Lost about 17 pounds. Just now able to eat again. The patient's energy level was only about 1/2 of what it used to be.
