Mom brought child to urgent care clinic the day after child received vaccines. Reported baseball sized bump on left leg that is warm to touch that began the morning of 02/12/2026. She was started on cephalexin in the urgent care clinic. Patient then presented to the ED on 02/13/2026 with worsening symptoms of redness, warmth, and swelling despite 3 doses of antibiotics. Patient was then admitted to the hospital for observation and IV atb's. Of note, mom reported to hospital provider that this happened 1 previous time following vaccinations. Administered IV vancomycin while in hospital but this was discontinued due to red man reaction. Switched to IV ceftriaxone and then transitioned to oral cephalexin prior to discharge. Also treated with IV Benadryl.
