purple bruise; pain; This non-serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of pain in a 51-year-old patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included shingles (got them when patient was 32 years old), burning sensation (terrible feeling it was like a burning sensation at same time very painful) and pain (actually, felt more painful than having a baby). On an unknown date, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced pain (Verbatim: pain) and contusion (Verbatim: purple bruise). The outcome of the pain was resolved (duration 1 week) and the outcome of the contusion was resolving. The reporter considered the pain and contusion to be related to Shingles vaccine. The company considered the pain and contusion to be related to Shingles vaccine. The patient mentioned that he/she was 51 and was able to get the 1st vaccine; the 2nd one he/she would get in two months because it required two doses to be effective. The patient did have pain from the vaccine for about a week, and now he/she had a purple bruise from it, but it was ok now (at the time of reporting).
