Symptom narrative

Anaphylaxis/severe swelling started in the arm the patient received shingrix. Swelling extended down arm to elbow. And lips and throat also swelled; This serious case was reported by a physician via call center representative and described the occurrence of anaphylaxis in a 53-year-old female patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included DTPa (Reduced antigen) (Boostrix) for prophylaxis. On 03-FEB-2026, the patient received the 1st dose of Shingrix (right deltoid) and Boostrix (left arm). On 03-FEB-2026, less than a day after receiving Shingrix and Boostrix, the patient experienced anaphylaxis (Verbatim: Anaphylaxis/severe swelling started in the arm the patient received shingrix. Swelling extended down arm to elbow. And lips and throat also swelled) (serious criteria GSK medically significant and other: Serious as per reporter). The patient was treated with prednisone, steroids, aluminium hydroxide gel, dried, magnesium carbonate (Pepcid) and camphor, diphenhydramine hydrochloride, zinc oxide (Benadryl). The outcome of the anaphylaxis was resolving. The reporter considered the anaphylaxis to be related to Shingrix. The reporter considered the anaphylaxis to be unrelated to Boostrix. The company considered the anaphylaxis to be related to Shingrix. The company considered the anaphylaxis to be unrelated to Boostrix. Additional Information: GSK receipt date: 10-FEB-2026 The patient received Shingrix first dose on 03-FEB-2026. The patient went to urgent care clinic when reaction occurred and received prednisone. The patient was given steroids, Benadryl, and Pepcid. The batch number was not provided and a request for this information has been made.; Sender's Comments: A case of Anaphylactic reaction, less than a day after receiving the 1st dose of Shingrix and Boostrix, in a 53-year-old female patient. Causal relation is indeterminate considering multiple vaccines given concomitantly.
