postherpetic neuralgia; Suspected Vaccination failure; Shingles onforehead and spread to eyelid; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis and VARICELLA ZOSTER VACCINE for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine, the 1st dose of Shingles vaccine and the 1st dose of VARICELLA ZOSTER VACCINE. On 25-DEC-2022, 2 years after receiving Shingles vaccine and Shingles vaccine and an unknown time after receiving VARICELLA ZOSTER VACCINE, the patient experienced facial herpes zoster (Verbatim: Shingles onforehead and spread to eyelid). On 25-DEC-2025, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Suspected Vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant). On an unknown date, the patient experienced post herpetic neuralgia (Verbatim: postherpetic neuralgia). The patient was treated with gabapentin. The outcome of the vaccination failure and facial herpes zoster were not reported and the outcome of the post herpetic neuralgia was not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, facial herpes zoster and post herpetic neuralgia to be related to Shingles vaccine and Shingles vaccine. Then when the second type of shot came out, got both of them. Still got shingles about 2 years later, on holiday in 2022, on forehead and spread to eyelids. It left me with postherpetic neuralgia. Still cannot stand to have hair touching my forehead. The patient received gabapentin 3 times per day. Bottom line was 10 percent or more of people who have the shingles shots still get shingles. This case considered as suspected vaccination failure since the details regarding laboratory confirmation was not reported.
