Symptom narrative

Initial symptoms were burning and redness in both eyes. After 3 days, eyelids began to swell and proptosis (bulging of eyes) was present. Patient experienced severe double-vision impairing his daily routines. The symptoms gradually grew worse and after testing for thyroid hormone levels, the patient was diagnosed with Thyroid Eye Disease and Graves' Disease. Patient was treated with oral steroids temporarily and eventually (1.5 years after onset) with Tepezza infusions. The Tepezza provided some relief of the eye proptosis, swelling, and double-vision but only for a period of 6 months. Symptoms returned although not quite as severe and the patient continues to live with ongoing symptoms. Patient has since been prescribed with 50 Mcg Levothyroxine to control thyroid activity.

Daily multivitamin, low dose botox injections to vocal cords every 3 months.

US Thyroid, TSI, T3, T4, TSH Sensitive. All results abnormal. Multiple dates from May 2021 to present.
