The most striking feature of this case is that the patient was appropriately vaccinated with MMR.; Literature Report This literature report was received from the authors of a published literature article, titled as stated above, and refers to a 5 -year-old Female patient. The patient's historical conditions, previous drug reactions or allergies and concomitant medications were not indicated. On an unknown date, the patient was vaccinated with Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (Wistar RA 27-3) Virus Vaccine, Live (MMR) for prophylaxis (strength, specific dosage, dose number, route of administration, anatomical site of application, lot number and expiration date were not provided). On an unknown date, patients' mumps IgM, as part of initial workup, was equivocal at 0.93 AU. Then, was positive for mumps IgM with antibody level of 1.53 AU. Patient initially had a retropharyngeal phlegmon, followed by possible incomplete Kawasaki disease symptoms, and finally with arthralgias before ultimately being diagnosed with mumps. The most striking feature of this case was that the patient was appropriately vaccinated with Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (Wistar RA 27-3) Virus Vaccine, Live (MMR) (Vaccination failure).
