The issue with this first dose of the Varivax vaccine is the following. The patient was in for his 12 month well check on 8/28/25. He was given his MMR vaccine that day but mom and his physician he saw Dr agreed to split up his vaccines. Dr instructed the family to come back in 2-3 weeks time for the Varicella vaccine. So family came back on 9/9/25 and got his Varivax vaccine. Unfortunately, that interval was not at least a month between live virus vaccines. Therefore his first dose of Varivax was invalid. He had no adverse reactions or side effects to that vaccine. POC say he was fine. This error was discovered at his most recent visit on 2/19/26 when we had to give him another dose of the Varivax to make that a valid first dose of the vaccine. The patient has not had any adverse effects from this dose either.
