An 82-year-old female patient received pneumococcal 20-val conj vac (dipht CRM197 protein) (PREVNAR 20), on 03Nov2025 as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) at the age of 82 years for pneumococcal immunisation. The patient had no relevant medical history. The patient's concomitant medications were not reported. The following information was reported: ANOSMIA (non-serious) with onset 03Nov2025, outcome "not recovered", described as "she has lost her sense of smell/ sense of smell disappeared". Additional information: Patient received a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine but she searched the info she received and could not find the brand name or manufacturer but after receiving it she say she has lost her sense of smell. She wants to know if this is permanent or does she have to wait awhile for it to return, She stated she got a Prevnar 20 a year ago. Patient called about pneumococcal conjugate vaccine and reported that, Immediately after patient received that shot, her sense of smell disappeared. Sense of smell disappeared, Start date was reported as 3 months ago, later corrected to 4 months ago, confirmed as 03Nov2025, is when occurred, when got the shot, immediately had no sense of smell. What she misses the most was coffee in the morning. Stop date was reported as Ongoing. Stayed the same. The information on the batch/lot number for pneumococcal 20-val conj vac (dipht CRM197 protein) will be requested and submitted if and when received.
