Legs collapsed; couldn't move at all/I couldn't get out of bed; had flu like symptoms; extreme systemic musculoskeletal pain; In the fetal position with tears all night; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of lower extremities weakness of in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. In FEB-2022, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine. In FEB-2022, 1 day after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced lower extremities weakness of (Verbatim: Legs collapsed) (serious criteria hospitalization), movement disorder (Verbatim: couldn't move at all/I couldn't get out of bed) (serious criteria hospitalization), influenza-like symptoms (Verbatim: had flu like symptoms), musculoskeletal pain (Verbatim: extreme systemic musculoskeletal pain) and crying (Verbatim: In the fetal position with tears all night). The patient was treated with diclofenac sodium (Anti-Inflammatory), paracetamol (Tylenol) and ketorolac tromethamine (Toradol). The outcome of the lower extremities weakness of, movement disorder, influenza-like symptoms and crying were not reported and the outcome of the musculoskeletal pain was not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the lower extremities weakness of, movement disorder, influenza-like symptoms, musculoskeletal pain and crying to be related to Shingles vaccine. The company considered the lower extremities weakness of and movement disorder to be unrelated to Shingles vaccine. It was unknown if the company considered the influenza-like symptoms, musculoskeletal pain and crying to be related to Shingles vaccine. Additional Information: GSK receipt date: 21-FEB-2026 The patient was not an antivaxer but well, got vaccinated. Within four hours after the second injection the patient had flu like symptoms and then extreme systemic musculoskeletal pain. The patient was in fetal position with tears all night. The next night patient's legs collapsed, couldn't move at all, the paramedics took to the hospital and there for a day or two. All was in FEB-2022. The patient subsequently was in severe musculoskeletal pain to the extent and couldn't get out of bed. The patient was currently still on anti inflammatories, Tylenol, muscle relaxers, and on occasion Toroidal injections to simply get out of bed.; Sender's Comments: A case of Muscular weakness and Movement disorder,1 day after receiving 2nd dose of Shingles vaccine, in a patient. Based on the available information a possible causality that the event was caused by the GSK product cannot be ascertained. Consent for further follow-up has not been received.
