Symptom narrative

they told her it is diverticulitis; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. An 86-year-old female patient received BNT162b2 omi xbb.1.5 (COMIRNATY (2023-2024 FORMULA)), on 25Oct2023 as dose 1, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) at the age of 86 years, in right deltoid (right shoulder) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history was not reported. Concomitant medication(s) included: INFLUENZA VACCINE, in 2023 as dose number unknown, single. The patient also took other concomitant therapy. Vaccination history included: Pfizer covid-19 vaccine (Dose 1, single; first shot in 2020 or 2021), for COVID-19 immunization, reaction(s): "weakness"; Pfizer covid-19 vaccine (Dose number unknown, single), for COVID-19 immunization, reaction(s): "weakness". The following information was reported: DIVERTICULITIS (medically significant) with onset 2023, outcome "not recovered", described as "they told her it is diverticulitis". The event "they told her it is diverticulitis" required physician office visit and emergency room visit. The patient underwent the following laboratory tests and procedures: lab work: (11Feb2026) okay, notes: went on the 11th for last lab work and she was told it was okay; Scan: (unspecified date) diverticulitis. Therapeutic measures were taken as a result of diverticulitis. Clinical course: Patient was on regular medications she's been taking for 10 to 20 years (does not want to list them individually). Patient stated she had all of the required shots up until 2023, and since she doesn't feel good doesn't receive the covid shots anymore, refuses them. She is not sure if her first covid shot was in 2020 or 2021. She does not know how many Pfizer covid shots she has received. Patient had a little weakness, not enough to notice it, it was like after a flu shot when one might feel a little sluggish. Patient states she had this after each of the prior Pfizer covid vaccines except the last one where the symptoms were worse. Patient states she has been having some problems ever since taking the last Pfizer Covid shot and states, not only her but her husband and sister-in-law too have been having the same thing. Patient states, it has gotten extremely worse and she ended up in the emergency room, and they told her it was diverticulitis. Patient stated after they did a scan, they verified it was diverticulitis. She has not been able to get rid of it and has had this off and on and she is so weak she can barely hold the phone and states she is going on her last ounce of adrenalin. Clarified the symptoms her husband and sister-in-law were having was weakness and she was also experiencing weakness. Stated the reason for her report was she went on google and asked if anyone had this problem since the covid epidemic and they said yes. Patient wanted to see if she was dying because she is so weak. Patient states that she had felt like she could live to 110 and nothing held her down. All the covid shots she got were Pfizer. Patient states she's been having this on and off and apparently this was a severe case, and it hasn't let up. Patient states her husband was in the same shape, hasn't had the diverticulitis but he has had the weakness not as bad as her, since the last covid shot. Patient states her husband had some of the same symptoms. They got the Pfizer Covid shot at the same time in the same room. Patient just went on the 11th for last lab work, and she was told it was okay. Patient went to the doctor first and then was sent to Emergency Room. After the scan, she was told she had diverticulitis and they gave her two medications and told her she would be better in two days. Patient states she wasn't given any IV fluids that day, they kept her for about half a day and sent her home. Event Diverticulitis: within the side effect time, clarified got symptoms within a couple weeks of getting Pfizer covid shot on 25Oct2023. States she had diarrhea and vomiting off and on. Diarrhea, weakness, and vomiting were off and on, not getting better. Both of she and her husband are not getting better and are restricted to home. Hospital gave her two prescriptions for drugs, but she does not know the names of the two prescriptions drugs. They have taken the flu shot (thinks it was a month in before, she not sure she is saying this from memory), but refused the covid shot since then they have refused the boosters since their last Pfizer covid shot. The information on the batch/lot number for BNT162b2 omi xbb.1.5 will be requested and submitted if and when received.; Sender's Comments: Linked Report(s) : US-PFIZER INC-202600037698 Same product and reporter, similar event, different patient;US-PFIZER INC-202600037592 Same product and reporter, similar event, different patient;
