Vaccination failure; Got shingles in my eye; Light sensitivity; dry eye; Lesions on head; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: Vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), ophthalmic herpes zoster (Verbatim: Got shingles in my eye) (serious criteria GSK medically significant), photophobia (Verbatim: Light sensitivity), eye dryness (Verbatim: dry eye) and skin lesion (Verbatim: Lesions on head). The outcome of the vaccination failure and ophthalmic herpes zoster were not reported and the outcome of the photophobia and eye dryness were not resolved and the outcome of the skin lesion was resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure, ophthalmic herpes zoster, photophobia, eye dryness and skin lesion to be related to Shingles vaccine. The reporter indicated the patient had been vaccinated, so it was not bad case but that the patient had lifelong aftereffects. Lesions on the patient's head had also occurred but had subsequently resolved. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary vaccination schedule, time to onset for shingles and laboratory confirmation regarding shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.
