Immediately after birth, my newborn daughter received the Hepatitis B vaccine in the hospital nursery (administered shortly after delivery, within the first hours of life). Right after the vaccination, she was brought back to my room in an incubator. The doctor and nurses informed me that she had developed a fever, and they were unable to determine the cause at that time. Due to the unexplained fever and her condition, she required urgent transfer to another hospital. She was admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for monitoring and treatment. She remained in the NICU for two full weeks. No other vaccines were given at the time of the birth dose (to my knowledge), and there were no known complications during pregnancy or delivery prior to this event. The fever and subsequent NICU stay occurred directly following the Hepatitis B vaccine administration.
