Symptom narrative

Edited because the influenza vaccine was not an option. I received Influenza Trivalent. Within minutes of receiving the influenza vaccine, I developed widespread, extremely itchy hives. The hives appeared on my face, neck, and down both arms. The reaction began shortly after the injection and was severe enough that I had to leave work and call off for the remainder of the day. I did not seek medical care but took an antihistamine containing Cetirizine (the active ingredient in Zyrtec) to help manage the symptoms.
