postherpetic neuralgia; This non-serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of post herpetic neuralgia in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included shingles (had shingles on the right side of scalp, neck and ear for about 6 weeks, awful pain). On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced post herpetic neuralgia (Verbatim: postherpetic neuralgia). The outcome of the post herpetic neuralgia was not resolved. It was unknown if the reporter considered the post herpetic neuralgia to be related to Shingles vaccine. It had been a year now and doctor said patient might have this for the rest of life. The patient waited six months after shingles to get the vaccine and a couple of days later the patient started having the same pains that had with shingles.
