suspected vaccination failure; shingles; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. Co-suspect products included Herpes zoster (Shingrix) for prophylaxis. On an unknown date, the patient received the 2nd dose of Shingrix and the 1st dose of Shingrix. In FEB-2026, an unknown time after receiving Shingrix and Shingrix, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: shingles). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the shingles was resolving. It was unknown if the reporter considered the vaccination failure and shingles to be related to Shingrix and Shingrix. Additional Information: GSK Receipt Date: 11-MAR-2026 This case was reported by a patient via interactive digital media. The patient had the two-dose Shingrix vaccine a couple of years ago. The patient felt pretty good knowing that he/she had taken these shots to avoid them. The patient was beyond shocked when a couple of weeks ago he/she had Shingles on the right side of his/her scalp, his/her forehead and under eyebrow. The patient was given medicine to take. The blisters were now dried up and the skin was flaky. The patient's scalp was still tender to the touch and doctor said he/she was better off since he/she had the vaccines. The pain wasn't as severe. The patient just keep waiting for them to return and it was quite scary. The batch number was not provided and unable to contact the reporter. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding time to onset and laboratory test confirming shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.; Sender's Comments: A case of Vaccination failure, unknown time after receiving Shingrix (1st and 2nd dose), in a patient. Based on the available information a possible causality that the event was caused by the GSK product cannot be ascertained. Consent for further follow-up has not been received.
