Symptom narrative

Four days after vaccine, patient came into the pharmacy with redness at the injection site, spreading down her arm several inches. She said it felt a little warm. I said she could take OTC ibuprofen for the inflammation and swelling, apply an ice pack, and draw a line around the redness to see if it was improving or getting worse. I also encouraged her to contact her physician if it got any worse. This was her second dose in the 2 dose Shingrix series; she stated she did not have any adverse reactions with the first vaccine.
