suspected vaccination failure; still had a very bad case of shingles; This serious case was reported by a consumer via interactive digital media and described the occurrence of vaccination failure in a male patient who received Herpes zoster (Shingles vaccine) for prophylaxis. The patient's past medical history included facial herpes zoster (as had shingles on forehead and very close to one eye and doctor gave a prescription and sent to an eye doctor then went home). On an unknown date, the patient received Shingles vaccine. On an unknown date, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, the patient experienced vaccination failure (Verbatim: suspected vaccination failure) (serious criteria GSK medically significant) and shingles (Verbatim: still had a very bad case of shingles). The outcome of the vaccination failure was not reported and the outcome of the shingles was resolved. The reporter knew many who had had shingles and none had had to go into a hospital. This sounded like a scare tactic to get the vaccine, which did not guarantee that you still would not get them. The reporter's brother-in-law had had the vaccine and still had a very bad case of shingles. There were side effects from the vaccine they did not tell about before you got the vaccine, and research really good before getting the vaccine was advised. Personally, the reporter would have gone through the pain again from shingles before he/she got the vaccine. The batch number was not provided and unable to contact the reporter. This case was considered as suspected vaccination failure as details regarding completion of primary vaccination schedule, time to onset and laboratory test confirming shingles were unknown at the time of reporting.; Sender's Comments: A case of Vaccination failure, an unknown time after receiving Shingles vaccine, in a male patient.
