CMA administered the adult COVID vaccine to a 9 year old instead of the pediatric dose Spikevax 0.25 ml. The CMA noted the error immediately after injection was given and self-reported the error. The child was monitored for several minutes in the clinic and did not have any adverse effects. The patient's mother was advised of all possible side effects reviewed on the VIS sheet which was provided. Provider was notified of the error and we followed all facility notification processes to report the administration error. Nurse on call was notified.
