my blood pressure rise for a few weeks after the jab before returning to its typical range; This is a spontaneous report received from a Consumer or other non HCP. A female patient received BNT162b2 (BNT162B2), as dose number unknown, single (Batch/Lot number: unknown) for covid-19 immunisation. The patient's relevant medical history included: "CLL" (unspecified if ongoing), notes: diagnosis. The patient's concomitant medications were not reported. Vaccination history included: Flu vax (Annual); Tetanus jab (every 10-year), for Immunisation. The following information was reported: BLOOD PRESSURE INCREASED (non-serious), outcome "not recovered", described as "my blood pressure rise for a few weeks after the jab before returning to its typical range". Relevant laboratory tests and procedures are available in the appropriate section. Additional information: Patient returned from 3 weeks of travel to find an avalanche of materials from Pfizer in three large envelopes. Patient called Pfizer in Jan2026 because of the extremely steep cost, even with insurance, of Paxlovid. Patient came down with COVID for the first time in late Jan2026 (just before her planned trip). Because she has CLL (in watch and wait - no treatment needed) as a precaution her physician prescribed Paxlovid. To try to get the cost reduced, she suggested to talk with Pfizer to see whether there was a program to support immune compromised individuals. In her discussion with reps from Pfizer, patient thanked them for keeping her (and my family) safe from COVID for so long. Patient originally was vaccinated with Pfizer MRNA vax. Later, due to a minor side effect-her blood pressure rise for a few weeks after the jab before returning to its typical range - she switched to Novavax, which caused no side effects. To be clear - this was minor. And patient draw no connection between the vax and her CLL diagnosis. That would make as much sense as her saying her annual flu vax caused CLL - or her every 10-year tetanus jab did. Patient does not see a connection there and even if she did, the nature of COVID and its dangers would likely be far more concerning to her. She thinks she'd still take the jab. Patient doesn't know if the concerns were about the CLL or about the rise in her blood pressure. She will be happy to be interviewed about this because some of these questions need nuanced answers. Patient adds for those who can't acquire Paxlovid: Make the cost of Paxlovid in reach of all - it's a wonderful medication. It cut her infection off immediately. Patient wishes her husband had gotten it - his infection ragged on and long COVID is always a concern at their age. When obtaining demographics, patient stated they do like Pfizer. Pfizer all helped them in the beginning of COVID. Those were their first vaccine.
